On May 14th, Laura Manescu, Chief Development Officer at Modex, will be one of the speakers at EMERGE online tech conference 2021. Laura will talk about women in the blockchain and Fintech industries, about what’s it like to build a tech-heavy product from scratch, partnering with huge multinational companies such as Microsoft, and will also offer advice to startups thinking to get into blockchain or Fintech.

The 2021 conference, held online for the second year in a row because of the pandemic, gathers professionals from several industries with high growth potential: Advertising, Content & Marketing, Enterprise Software Solutions, Education, AI & Machine Learning, as well as Fintech, eCommerce & Retail. EMERGE 2021 continues where last year’s conference – which gathered 4308 people from over 100 countries: startups, tech talent, investors, media and corporates – left off.

40% of last year’s participants were women in tech

In 2020, more than 100 speakers – product managers, designers, engineers and marketers – from 7 time zones shared their experience and ideas on how technologies will shape our future and how we can build and scale tech products on a global market. Among EMERGE 2020 participants, 39% were startups and 44% were tech talent with a majority of product managers, designers and tech engineers.

Modex’s CDO to focus on blockchain and Fintech topics

Friday, May 14th, Laura Manescu will take part in the “Women-In-Tech session: developing & growing tech products, together”. Moderated by Priyanka Banerjee, CEO & Co-founder Businesswizz, the session will also include Katya Skorobogatova – Operating Partner TheVentureCity, Elena Polubochko, CTO Godel Technologies, and Yulia Smotrova, Account Manager Startups Amazon Web Services.

What can we expect from this session? “EMERGE is all about tech and growth. Women still have to prove their ambitions in innovative industries (as a team of mostly young women, we know it well). So, within the Women in Tech session at EMERGE we welcome female experts to listen to their insights on the current trends in developing smart services, as well as their stories of paving their way into tech business.”

Laura will speak about her professional journey – since joining the blockchain industry until now – and about her duties as Chief Development Officer at Modex. Besides offering insights about what’s it like to build a tech-heavy product from scratch (Modex Blockchain Database) and to partner with huge tech brands like Microsoft, Laura will also comment on the future of the blockchain and Fintech industries. Moreover, Modex’s CDO will share her views on how more women and diversity in these business spheres could be beneficial for the whole industry.
